It is with heartfelt sadness that we share the news of the passing of Margaret Griffiths, a much-loved and respected Trustee, who dedicated over two decades of her life to supporting our charity and the local community.
Margaret first joined HIP in 2003 and quickly became an integral part of our journey. Her knowledge, commitment and community spirit guided HIP through many years of development and change. As Chair of the Board for 10 years, and Vice Chair prior to that, Margaret provided strong leadership and a clear vision, helping to shape the services we offer today. Even after stepping down as Chair in November 2024, she remained a Trustee, continuing to support, champion and find joy in HIP’s work until her passing.
Margaret’s passion for Harleston and its people was evident in everything she did. Her insight and experience were invaluable, and she always brought warmth, wisdom and unwavering dedication to the table. She was not just a Trustee – she was a constant source of encouragement, a supporter of new ideas and a true friend to many within our organisation and the wider community.
Her loss is a profound one for HIP, and for Harleston as a whole. Margaret leaves behind a lasting legacy of compassion, service and belief in the power of community. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of working with her.
