Harold is an ordinary man who has passed through life, living on the side lines, until he goes to post a letter one day … and just keeps walking. Learning that his old friend and colleague Queenie has terminal cancer, Harold set out to post her a letter of condolence, but impulsively decides to visit her in person instead, walking from his home in Devon to Berwick-upon-Tween, and leaving his wife Maureen hurt and confused at home.
