Current Trustees
Jan Bird – Chair
Jan joined HIP in 2021 having spent 32 years working within special educational needs schools. Jan started volunteering on the Information Centre desk and is one of our team of volunteer Befrienders. She became a Trustee in early 2023 and was elected as Chair in 2025. Jan is very active in her home village of Alburgh, where she is a member of the village hall committee.
Kim Bryant – Vice Chair
Kim is a self-employed HR Consultant. Kim was previously employed as a Global HR Director for an American multi-national company, with a base in Norfolk. She joined HIP as a Trustee in 2014 and was elected as Vice Chair in 2025. Kim also volunteers weekly at the Jobs Club, supporting individuals into work, training and volunteering.
Trevor Graham – Treasurer
Trevor joined the Board in June 2025 to take on the role of Treasure. Trevor is an active member of our community, through involvement with Harleston Futures and the Harleston Historical Society. Trevor used to Chair the Harleston Town Council and is a current District Councillor for South Norfolk and Broadland Council.
Norman Hart – Trustee
Norman was the HDP founding Chair and has served on the Board since 2003. Norman spent 33 years teaching in secondary education in Norwich and Diss, responsible for appraisals, staff training, and in charge of student teachers. He is passionate about Harleston and the Waveney Valley and is heavily involved in community work, having been a trustee of two significant local charities for over 50 years.
Robin Twigge – Trustee
Robin has been on the HIP Board since 2008. He runs his own business, the Swan Hotel in Harleston and has many years’ experience in the hospitality industry in Britain and abroad. He has a great deal of experience of the voluntary and community sector having been on the board of a local CAB, the Harleston and Waveney Festival and is currently Chair of Harleston’s Future and a councillor in the neighbouring Needham parish.
Brenda Hoskins – Trustee
Brenda joined the Board in 2025 after moving to Harleston, motivated by a strong commitment to supporting the local community. She is a self-employed bookkeeper with extensive experience in accountancy and brings over 30 years of voluntary service within the VCSE sector, including work with the James Paget Hospital, the National Stroke Association, a local foodbank, and Cancer Research.
Tim Baldry – Trustee
Tim joined the Board in 2026 following his retirement from the property industry. His career spanned 50 years, beginning with 13 years in private practice at a well-established firm of rural and residential auctioneers, valuers and estate agents in Diss, before spending a further 37 years with a local government property consultancy. Tim has a strong passion for Harleston, the Waveney Valley and the surrounding villages. He is committed to actively promoting and achieving a vibrant, prosperous and growing town. He is also an active member of several local groups and organisations.
